Day 1 - our townhouse

We have for the first time exchanged house through homeexchange.com with a Swedish family living in London. They borrow our apartment and we theirs over Easter.
The key lied as promised under a flower pot next to the door, and we were delighted to see the charming town house that we'll stay in the next five nights.

Tip: Dare to change apartment or house! It costs around 10 euros per month to participate in the Home Exchange so join only when you decided to try find an item to swap with. One can try free for 14 days to see which items are in the system, which ones are interested to swap with the particular country you live in and so on. Once you have found a family to swap with - call and talk to them, talk all the contact details through and so on. Everyone we encountered are honest, nice families but it does not hurt to be extra careful.

Day 1 - Travel to "our" townhouse

From Heathrow airport, we took the Heathrow Express to Paddington. Quick trip in 15 minutes and already on the station we feel that we are in a big city.

At the station we bought an oyster card with free travel on bus and subway for the entire time we are here and we the took bus 27 towards Camden. The kids quickly found the best seats on the bus- on the top floor at the front!

Tip: if you want to save some money you can go by subway all the way from Heathrow with The Oystercard.

At Heathrow

Finally here! The first real city vacation with the kids and what city fits better than London. There is so much to do here with kids that you hardly know where to start. If you do not do research first. What we have done of course!

Here we are and look forward to an exciting Easter in London!

Towards London!

Great to travel with two big excited children amusing themselves on the flight. Direct flights with SAS, good to fly with a "real" airline where you can pre-book your place at no extra cost!
